  • Warm-up: Skip count using our posters, printed to A3 size or displayed on Interactive White Board. We have provided skip counting by twos, threes, fives and tens. Practise forwards and backwards counting.
  • Teach: Play a game of Sam-yuk-gu. We have provided the instructions. Have a game using the skip counting you are focusing on.
  • Individual Task: Give each child a 100s chart and tokens. Call out instructions…students race to cover all the correct numbers. Example: Skip counting – count by 2s, 5s, 10s. Alternatively, print out a black and white copy for each student and use colour pencils – e.g. count by 3s and colour.
  • Regroup: Use the 100s charts provided and print out A3 size or display on the Interactive White Board. Discuss with the whole class the patterns made by the skip counting. Point out little tricks or see if they can articulate them.
